Welcome to
Krasnodar Expats
We've put together this website as a resource for the expatriat community of Krasnodar, Russia. It is intended to
be an information resource for those foreigners who are living in, or just visiting Krasnodar and the surrounding region.
There is information about Krasnodar hotels, Krasnodar restaurants, Russian wine, the nearby Golden Sands gambling zone and
the Sochi 2014 Olympics.
For those who are unfamiliar with Krasnodar (and Krasnodar Krai), it is located in Russia's south, and is considered
to have the best climate in all of Russia. Its primary industries are Tourism and Agriculture. The Taman peninsula is home
to Russia's wine industry (with Abrau Durso, Russia's leading producer of Sparkling wine), and Caviar is harvested from Sturgeon
in the Azov Sea, which borders Krasnodar Krai to the Northwest. So, to quote Robin Leach, Krasnodar is truely the land of
"Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams."

The City of Krasnodar is the Capital of Krasnodar Krai (Territory). This region, also known as "The Kuban," is the southernmost
region of Russia. Approximately the size of the U.S. State of South Carolina, Krasnodar Krai is a diverse and wealthy
region of Russia.
The entire warm-water coastline of Russia falls withing the area of Krasnodar Krai. Stretching from Port Kavkaz, just
across from the Crimea, to Sochi down near the border with the Republic of Georgia. Krasnodar Krai also includes most of the
Russian coast of the Azov Sea. This is where the Russian Government has set aside a "gambling zone" that will be called Azov
City. This "Russian Las Vegas" will be open on July 1, 2009.
For those who are new to this region, we hope this website will be helpful. We'll be adding information to our directory as
we can. For those who have been longtime residents of the city, any information that you can add will be most appreciated. Do you have a question about Krasnodar? We'll be glad to answer any that you have. Please e-mail us at:
